Start-Up Activities
Our Ozstream start-up journey has been quite fortunate insofar that we’ve received quite a lot of assistance and direction from friends and loved ones to help us land in the space that we have. For this, we are eternally grateful and without this, we’d still be at the drawing board figuring out how to make a go at this project.
If we had to call out two of the single most important factors that have seen us get our beta product into the market in less than twelve months, then it would have to be these two items:
Idea to Impact Program
As I briefly touched on in our About Ozstream section of our website, hooking in with our Canberra Innovation Network - Idea to Impact program proved to be the first catalyst in helping us focus on what’s important for any start-up to succeed.
It has provided Ozstream with knowledge and outcomes in areas such as understanding our value proposition, what we needed to be focused on during our idea incubation period, being aware of our competitive landscape, and most importantly, landing our sixty-second pitch! It’s also been key to helping us work through our business model, metrics and big impact items.
All of which have helped Ozstream to sort the wheat from the chaff, and work through the items and issues that any start-up must navigate.
SCU Website Working Group
This would easily have to be one of the most unexpected of partnerships. One I would never have considered had a friend not posted about the opportunity on social media.
The Southern Cross University’s Web Development program requires students to find a business with a website program in which they can collaborate and apply the theory they’ve learnt into a practical / real world solution so as to demonstrate competency and have the skills required to receive accreditation.
Working in three design and implementation sprints, It’s been a fantastic way for Ozstream to realise our dream, get our website up and running, and to have our GigBridge solution built as a beta product and get this out into the market.

2024
GigBridge - Beta Product Launch
The start of 2024 saw us hit the ground running in order to source a Web Developer who could help us build GigBridge as an MVP (Minimum Viable Product). Enter Dulan Jayawardena and the team at Drenlo.com .
Let's build this MVP!
A milestone day in the evolution of Ozstream! By signing agreements to work together, this marked an important step in Ozstream being able to develop and deliver products and services to Australia's Creative and Performing Arts Industry.
GigBridge Soft-Launch
Soft-launching from October 2024, GigBridge will initially be available by special invitation for 100 musicians and 25 live music venues. GigBridge will then move into its pilot launch phase in early 2025 for musicians and venues located in the ACT and S/E NSW.
