Start-Up Activities
The Ozstream Organisation's early start-up journey benefited incredibly from the assistance and direction provided to us by friends and family.
This assistance has played a significant role in helping us find our groove, ensuring our heads were always in the same place as our feet, and really helping us discover our niche and identifying the best way to begin.
For this assistance, we are eternally grateful, as without it, we’d still be standing at the drawing board, scratching our heads, and trying to figure out where to begin.
If we had to call out two of the single most important factors that have seen us get our beta product into the market in just over two years, then it would have to be these next two items seen in our timeline.

Idea to Impact Program
Being hooked-in with the Canberra Innovation Network - Idea to Impact program proved to be the first catalyst in helping us focus on what’s important for any start-up to succeed. (Thanks Melitta!)
The 10 week course provided us with the tools, knowledge and outcomes in areas such as understanding our value proposition, what we needed to be focused on during our incubation period, being aware of our competitive landscape, and most importantly, landing our sixty-second pitch!
It’s also been key in helping us identify our business model, create some early metrics, and start working on our big impact items.
This greatly helped Ozstream sort the wheat from the chaff and work through issues that any start-up must navigate.

SCU Website Working Group
This would easily have to be one of the most unexpected of partnerships. One I would never have considered had a friend not posted about the opportunity on their social media. (Thanks Victor!)
The Southern Cross University’s Web Development program requires students to find a business with a website program in which they can collaborate and apply the theory they’ve learnt into a practical / real world solution so as to demonstrate competency and have the skills required to receive accreditation.
Working in three design and implementation sprints, It was a fantastic way for Ozstream to realise our dream, get our early website up and running, and to have our GigBridge MVP built.

CBRIN - Advanced Start-Up Workshops
Workshop 1: Selling to Grow. Learning practical methods to find customers and make sales.
Workshop 2: Raising Capital.
Learning how to systemise investor search and how to work on progressing the investor pipeline
Workshop 3: Negotiating Term-sheets.
Learning about venture investments work, then negotiating an actual term sheet.
2024

GigBridge MVP Tendering
The start of 2024 saw us hit the ground running in order to source Web Development capabilities to help us build GigBridge as an MVP (Minimum Viable Product).
Let's build this MVP!
Wednesday 27th March 2024 was a milestone day for Ozstream! This was an important step in commencing the build of GigBridge product.

GigBridge Soft-Launch
GigBridge was soft-launched in October 2024. It was initially available by special invitation for 25 musicians and 5 live music venues.
To prove the concept, it was really important to get the MVP into the hands of our early-adopters so we could get some early feedback on its features and functionality, and get some additional ideas for what might need to change before launch.
Everyone's feedback, no matter how big or small, had us go back to the drawing board for a second time, rework a few things, and reimagine what our launch strategy would look like.

Timing The Market
Ever heard 'It's not time in the market, it's timing the market'? Well, we learned that lesson first-hand when we hit a wall in early November.
If we're laying all our cards on the table, it was a pretty tough bind we found ourselves in.
Three months behind schedule, mounting costs, a product with capacity constraints, and facing the prospect of launching right when everyone's winding down for the Christmas and summer holiday period. Yeah, sub-optimal!
After some serious soul-searching and number-crunching, we made the tough call to shake up our web development capabilities. It was at this point we decided to bring in new talent, which proved to be exactly what we needed to do.
Sometimes challenges lead to opportunities - our new talent had brought fresh energy and perspectives into the project, and once again we found ourselves starting to get excited about what our prospects would be in 2025!
Rather than rest, December and January would be used an opportunity to reset, refocus, and reconsider a few key aspects in our launch strategy.
2025

No Rest for the Wicked!
Whilst most were enjoying a holiday break, the team at Ozstream were busy cracking on.
Here we are at the end of January, and GigBridge is on-track for launch sometime in mid-February.
Full credit and thanks to Jay Donovan and Jas Deogan who have worked their absolute guts out to help me get everything back on-track and looking trim, taught, and terrific for the launch of GigBridge.
Seriously, guys, Thank You! I simply couldn't have done it without you!

Get Excited!
It all starts happening in February!
We're pleased to announce that GigBridge will be available across Australia from Friday 21st February 2025.
That said, it's still going to be slowly-slowly for a little while as move to get everyone set-up and running.
Our launch strategy will see us first reaching out to Live Music Venues located in both the ACT and NSW.
With these first venues set-up and posting their first opportunities, musicians and performers should be able to start applying for these first opportunities created by venues from early March.
After March, the plan is to focus on Victoria, then up to Queensland, then the rest of Australia.
