How do I create and manage an Opportunity Post?
Attention venues! Ready to open your stage and set the scene?
Sorry performers, only venue profiles can create and post opportunities. But you can always post a Call Out which is almost the same. A Call Out is similar insofar that it appears on your profile and is also searchable by other performers &/or venues, the only difference being, a Call Out post doesn’t result in a booking like an Opportunity post does!
Here’s your step-by-step guide to creating and posting a new opportunity on GigBridge, where you can connect with performers eager to make your venue come alive.
Simply follow these easy steps:
Step 1: Head to the Posts tab on your profile.
Step 2: Click on Add New Opportunity. This is where the magic begins!
Step 3: Set the Opportunity Date and Time. Be sure to pick a slot that works for you, as this sets the timing for the big moment.
Step 4: Hit Submit. Don’t worry if you have other events in your calendar; our system will double-check to make sure you’re free at the selected time and date – no chance of double-bookings here!
Step 5: Now, it’s time to fill out the opportunity form with all the essential details.
Here’s what you’ll need to include:
- Title: Create a catchy title for your opportunity. Think of this as your chance to set the vibe for the event—“Jazz Night at The Cellar” or “Sunset Acoustics in The Greenhouse,” for example.
- Opportunity Type: Select what kind of venue you are: Bar, Community Event, Restaurant, Winery – whatever suits your style. (And yes, “hip coffee joint” counts as a type – but just pick what fits best!)
- Genre: What are you looking for musically? Blues, easy-listening, rock, jazz, or maybe something unexpected? Set the scene by choosing the genre that best fits the mood you’re going for.
- Location: This is pre-set to the address listed in your venue profile. If you’re planning a surprise pop-up at a new location, be sure to update your venue details first!
- Date and Time: This information is drawn from Step 3, so if you need to change it, you’ll need to back up and re-enter the date and time. Think of it as a quick “rewind” to ensure all’s in sync.
- Short Description: Add a brief but enticing description of what you’re looking for in a performer. This summary will appear when musicians are browsing opportunities, so consider it your pitch. Example: “Looking for upbeat acoustic tunes to set the mood for our Sunday brunch crowd.” A little personality goes a long way!
- Price Point: Use the sliding scale to set your budget – anywhere from $0 to $5000. Setting expectations here helps musicians gauge if the opportunity aligns with their expectations.
- Description: Here’s where you go into detail. Think about the specific information a performer needs to know before taking the stage. Do you have a smaller stage? Special sound equipment requirements? A custom-built disco ball that needs an operator? Add all relevant details to make sure you’re attracting the right talent and that musicians know exactly what to expect.
Once you’ve completed all these fields, hit Submit. Your opportunity will then be published and become visible on your profile and searchable by musicians actively searching for this type of gig.
And that’s it! Sit back, relax, and wait for the applications to roll in. Soon enough, you’ll have the perfect match for your venue, ready to make your next event a hit!
Managing Your Opportunity
Each opportunity you post can accept applications from up to three performers before it closes for further applications. Once three musicians have applied, the opportunity will stop accepting new applicants, giving you time to make an informed choice without being overwhelmed by too many options.
To manage your opportunity:
- Head to your dashboard, where you’ll see the list of applicants.
- Preview the applications and explore each performer’s profile.
- Send a booking confirmation if you find someone who’s a perfect fit.
If you’re unsure, don’t worry! Simply decline any applicants you know won’t work for the opportunity, and keep the listing open to see if another performer applies.
This approach allows you to make the best choice without feeling rushed.
How easy is that!
